System Design

System Installation

We have experience in large and small-scale computer and communications system installation and project management.  If your business requires low or zero-downtime installations we can help from initial planning through to cut-over and documentation.

Our access to several technology experts and companies we can trust to be on-time and on-budget allows you to outsource an entire system installation or upgrade to us with confidence.


System Support

Our system designs incorporate several items that greatly reduces the amount of administration as compared to most business systems.  'Zero-maintenance' systems are not practical for most businesses, but using a 'very-low maintenance' design is definitely cost-effective.

After reviewing your support requirements, if our services are suitable we can provide a proposal for maintaining your network and/or communications systems. We provide several levels of system support. Our services are on either a time-and-materials basis or bank-of-hours agreement so you can choose which best suits your requirements.


Special Projects

In addition to the usual system work we also carry out a limited number of special projects. On-going and recent typical projects include:

  • UK-wide WAN implementation using Cisco routers.
  • Line-of-Business software development project using MS Access/Visual Basic for a manufacturing company to automate product design, costing, order processing, scheduling and invoicing.
  • Marine datacomms and computer systems upgrade.
  • System 'lock-down' post security breach including non-forensic system analysis, intrusion detection and monitoring, and confidential reporting.
  • ICT Plan for a leading food company, including evaluating existing applications for integration.
  • Development of tightly integrated middleware and applications to provide the 'Missing Link' between Accounting/MRP systems, Fax servers and external hardware such as shop floor klaxons.  Our latest project was produced to fill a customer's need for more control over their email spam filtering. That application was further developed as a commercial product, SmartIMF Manager.

Technology - SBS 2003

Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 was designed to provide enterprise system functionality, features, reliability and speed for SME’s on relatively inexpensive hardware. SBS 2003 is comprised of Windows Server 2003, Exchange Server 2003, Sharepoint Server, WSUS Server and Fax Server.

Hardware

While not tied to any particular hardware vendor, our experience has shown that Dell provides the best value in servers and desktops. With the vast array of possibilities for server hardware, finding the right balance between cost and capability can be difficult. Software design

While not our primary focus, many of our customers find they need small applications developed to solve specific problems. N2Nets can help by developing your application at a reasonable cost.
